The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) launched a comment period on their proposed “Conservation and Landscape Health Rule”. This is a huge leap forward! It is in in response to the President’s Executive order to protect lands to take up more carbon to reduce the threat of climate change.
Letters are needed to the BLM to weigh in on the Rule. The subject is hugely important as protecting old growth and mature forests can markedly reduce carbon emissions but only if they don’t log our Old Growth and Mature Forests!
Take action on 4th of July! Deadline is Wednesday, July 5th. If you just want to click on a pre-written letter do it here for both the BLM and the Forest Service, but still write a brief personal statement in the box provided.
