We are plowing into election season now, and the Josephine County Democrats are gearing up with Project Engage, aimed at getting more non-affiliated voters to register with a party. Not only does this give voters the means to vote for their favorite primary candidates, it gives campaigns more ability to find their voters and get them to the polls. Oregon’s primary is Tuesday, May 19, which is coming up fast, so now is the time to sign up to help. Find out more about Project Engage at the next JoCo Democrats meeting Tuesday February 11 and find out how to use your talents to broaden our base in the county. Also at the February meeting, we will be getting updates from our caucus and committee chairs, seeking input for candidate endorsements, and start scheduling for candidate forums and appearances. The meeting starts with a social at 6:30 pm at 129 NW E St in Grants Pass. The meeting begins at 7 pm.
Those who live in Oregon’s State House District 4 who want to support Democrat Mary Middleton should come to the February meeting to add your signature to her filing papers so she can get the fee waived. Mary is running against incumbent Republican Duane Stark, who was elected in 2014.
