What’s the first bill from the new Republican House? It’s the “Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act” (HR23) would do several notable things, including:
- Target 87,000 IRS agents who don’t exist
- Increase the deficit by roughly $114 billion over the next decade
- Help tax cheats
- Undermine law enforcement
Hmmm. The only people protected are the super wealthy. And by the way, our Congressional District 2 representative, Cliff Bentz voted “Yea”. Certainly not helping any of those in his district! In fact, if you file a paper return and expect a refund, due to the lack of IRS employees, it may take a year or more to get your refund!

Once again Bentz marches along the Republican music of helping big money donors.

This needs to be in the Daily Courier!! So appreciate you following Bentz’s votes. The word needs to get out on how he has not supported rural Oregonians with broadband and other infrastructure needs or Seniors with lower medicine costs. His first vote in Congress as not to accept the electoral votes from Pennsylvania even after he himself had to hide from the insurrectionists attacking the capital. He said in a public hearing at RVC that his vote was in support of the Constitution. That makes no sense at all. His mentor on the Judicial Committee and supporter in the Voter Pamphlet is Jim Jordon who himself was most likely one of those who helped plan the Republican interference in counting the electoral votes. With Josephine County now all in Bentz’s district, voters need to be kept informed. Thanks for what you are doing!
